An artist-run space for photography in all its multiforms

Tenancy 5 is a new artist-run photography collective, located at the Joynton Creative Center, amongst a host of other creative organisations. We're building a hub for research, production and collaboration that treats photography as expansive, intersecting with a multitude of other media.We value the core of photography, whether that means working within its traditions, pushing against its limits, or finding it new ground. Our space exists to support diverse voices and practices, with particular emphasis on giving space to artists whose work is underrepresented in Sydney's photography landscape.We acknowledge that our studios at 3 Joynton Avenue stand on the unceded lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and recognise that sovereignty was never ceded.Tenancy 5 currently in the process of establishing our print lab and putting systems and processes in place.If any of this speaks to you, whether you're an artist, photographer, academic, editor, researcher, thinker, writer, administrator, printer, student, or publisher, we'd love for you to sign up so we can keep you updated on opportunities, programming and events as we put them together.
